For Professional Advisors
The Taft School, founded in 1890, is a private, nonprofit, 501(c)3 corporation in Watertown, Connecticut. The school has endeavored to “educate the whole student” and has done so with remarkable success. We differ from our peer schools in that the students are intensively supervised, as well as required to work hard, and enjoy the setting and fellow classmates resulting in nurtured, mature, and well-prepared young adults during their Taft career. Thanks to those who remembered Taft in their estate plans, the school flourishes; however, our endowment lags compared to peer schools. As our headmaster Willy MacMullen often reminds everyone, “Endowment Is Destiny,”—estate gifts have the ability to bolster the endowment.
Many advisors are unaware of the tax-exempt planning advantages and strategies pertaining to legacy gifts and how—if they are leveraged correctly—could benefit the Taft School and loved ones as well as greatly reduce tax obligations. You are encouraged to explore this website for more information as well as the many intriguing options.
An estate gift can help your client, and our alumni, realize a larger gift than ever imagined and fulfill philanthropic goals at the same time.
